AgiBot X2 humanoid waving to a crowd at the AgiBot booth at CES 2026
AgiBot's X2 at CES 2026. Both AgiBot and Unitree had packed booths; they draw very different buyers. Manufacturer footage.

AgiBot and Unitree are the two Chinese robotics makers most US buyers end up comparing. Both build humanoids and quadrupeds, both are sold through US resellers, and their price lists overlap more than you would expect.

We sell both, so we have no reason to tilt this. The short version: Unitree is the researcher's and budget buyer's brand. AgiBot is the brand for robots that non-programmers have to run. Here is how that plays out model by model.

4 Questions That Pick the Brand

Question 1

Who operates it?

Engineers and students who code lean Unitree. Event staff, teachers and front-desk teams who should not need code lean AgiBot.

Question 2

Is it a platform or a product?

Unitree sells platforms you build on. AgiBot's X2 ships closer to a finished product with persona, voice and routines.

Question 3

What is the floor budget?

Under $7,000 for a humanoid, or under $4,000 for a dog, only Unitree has an answer.

Question 4

Indoors or out in the weather?

For year-round outdoor routes, compare the IP67 D1 Max with the Unitree A2 on your exact conditions.

Software: Zero-Code vs Open Source

This is the real difference between the brands, more than any spec. Unitree publishes open-source tools on GitHub, including its SDK in C++ and Python, ROS 2 packages, MuJoCo simulation, reinforcement-learning training code and XR teleoperation. A research team can go deep fast.

AgiBot puts its effort into tools for people who do not code. On the X2, LinkCraft converts an ordinary video of a person into robot motion, and LinkSoul configures persona, wake word and voice. A teacher or event coordinator can change what the robot says and does without calling a developer.

FCC and NDAA

Both brands are Chinese manufacturers, so the FCC rule change of 28 July 2026 applies to both. We sell only models whose equipment authorization was granted before that date and verified in the FCC database: AgiBot under grantee code 2BTPT and Unitree under 2A5PE. Some models from each brand are not offered for that reason. Details: AgiBot FCC guide and Unitree FCC guide.

FCC authorization is not NDAA procurement eligibility. If any federal funds are involved, confirm eligibility with your procurement office before specifying either brand.

How Buying Works

  1. Tell us the job. Where the robot works, who runs it, and whether anyone will program it. We will tell you which model fits, including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
  2. Get a formal written quote. Itemized robot, accessories, freight to your address and any applicable state sales tax, with confirmed lead time. Quotes are valid for 60 days.
  3. Paperwork. We send a W-9 and complete vendor setup forms for schools, agencies and companies. Tax-exempt buyers send a certificate and we remove the tax line.
  4. Payment. ACH or wire on acceptance, with card available. If your organization issues a purchase order, we reference it on the invoice. The robot is ordered as soon as payment clears.
  5. Delivery and handover. Freight to your door with tracking, plus remote setup help so your team is running on day one.

Get a Quote for Either Brand

Tell us the job, who will run the robot and your delivery address. We recommend the right model from either catalog and send an itemized quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AgiBot or Unitree better?
Neither across the board. Unitree is cheaper at the entry level and has the larger open-source research ecosystem. AgiBot is stronger where non-programmers run the robot, such as events, greeting and classrooms, and its D1 Edu is the lower-cost programmable quadruped.

Which is cheaper, AgiBot or Unitree?
At the entry level, Unitree: the Go2 Pro is $3,790 against the AgiBot D1 Pro at $4,599, and the Unitree G1 humanoid is $17,990 against the AgiBot X2 at $27,999. For a programmable quadruped, AgiBot is cheaper: the D1 Edu is $7,199 against the Go2 Edu from $11,190.

AgiBot X2 vs Unitree G1: which should I buy?
Buy the G1 for research and programming, where its SDK, ROS 2 support and open-source training code matter. Buy the X2 for events, greeting and school use by non-programmers, where its zero-code motion tools, expressions and voice matter.

AgiBot D1 vs Unitree Go2: which is better?
For demos on the tightest budget, the Go2 Pro. For a classroom or lab that will write code, the D1 Edu, which costs less than the Go2 Edu. For long patrol routes, compare the D1 Ultra with the Go2 Ent on your exact route.

Are AgiBot and Unitree robots legal to buy in the US?
The models we list from both brands hold FCC equipment authorization granted before the FCC rule change of 28 July 2026, and every FCC ID is verifiable in the FCC database. Some models from each brand are not sold in the US because they lack that authorization.

Are AgiBot or Unitree robots NDAA compliant?
Both are Chinese manufacturers, and FCC authorization is a separate question from NDAA procurement eligibility. If federal funds are involved, confirm eligibility with your procurement office before you specify either brand.

Can I buy both brands from one place?
Yes. We are an authorized US reseller for both AgiBot and Unitree, so one quote can mix models, for example a G1 for a lab and an X2 for the front lobby.
