The AgiBot X2 and X2 Ultra are the same 131 cm, half-size humanoid on the outside. They walk at the same 2 m/s, run the same two hours on the same 500 Wh pack, and carry the same 3 kg maximum end effector payload. The Ultra costs $15,000 more.
What you are paying for is the difference between a robot that performs and a robot that works.
The Difference in One Sentence
The X2 Ultra can navigate a building on its own. The base X2 cannot.
Everything else follows from that. The Ultra carries LiDAR, binocular RGB, RGBD and a rear camera, and an NVIDIA Orin NX 16 GB compute module to process it. The base X2 has a single interactive RGB camera and RK3588 silicon, which is enough to see a face and react to it but not enough to map a space and path-plan through it.

Same 131 cm chassis on both configurations. The $15,000 difference is entirely in what it can perceive and where it can go.

Buy the Base X2 If
- The robot works a stage, a booth, or a fixed spot. Trade shows, brand activations, store openings, product launches. It does not need to go anywhere on its own because a person walks it to its position.
- Your value is the performance, not the errand. 20+ preset motions, 30+ facial expression animations, proactive interaction that recognizes faces, gestures and body movement, and multilingual voice. That is a crowd magnet, and it is fully present on the base model.
- You are running multiple units in a choreographed routine. Fleet control works on the base X2, and at $27,999 a three-robot performance costs less than two Ultras.
- Non-technical staff will operate it. LinkCraft zero-code motion training and LinkSoul persona configuration are on both models. You do not need a developer to make the base X2 do its job.
Buy the X2 Ultra If
- The robot needs to move through a building unattended. Museums, visitor centers, exhibition halls, hospital lobbies, corporate campuses. Map the space once, then it navigates, avoids moving people, and returns to its dock.
- It has to handle objects. Seven-DoF arms and optional dexterous hands or grippers are Ultra-only. The base X2 has five-DoF arms oriented toward gesture and expression. See the AgiBot OmniHand for the end effector options.
- You are doing embodied AI research. The Orin NX 16 GB module and open interfaces are what make the Ultra a development platform rather than a product.
- Someone will operate it remotely. Optional VR teleoperation is Ultra-only.
- It runs all day without staff. The optional charging dock plus autonomous return-to-charge is what makes an unattended deployment realistic on a two-hour battery.
The Mistake People Make
The most common error is buying the Ultra for a job the base X2 does. If a person is going to be standing next to the robot anyway, because it is at a booth and someone is working that booth, autonomous navigation is $15,000 of capability you will not use. Conversely, buying the base X2 for a visitor-guidance deployment and then discovering it cannot walk a route by itself is a mistake you cannot fix with a firmware update.
Ask one question: between the moment the robot is switched on and the moment it is switched off, does anyone need to physically move it? If the answer is no and there is no staff member present, you need the Ultra.

Is the X2 Ultra faster than the X2?
No. Both walk at 2 m/s. The Ultra is 4 kg heavier because of the added sensors and compute.
Can the base X2 be upgraded to an Ultra later?
The perception stack and compute module are configured at build. Treat this as a decision you make once.
Do I need a developer for either one?
No. LinkCraft provides zero-code motion training with voice narration and LinkSoul configures persona, wake word and voice tone on both models. The Ultra adds a presentation toolchain for building explanation scripts. SDK work is optional, not required.
How long do they actually run?
About two hours of continuous interactive use on both. Plan spare batteries for an all-day deployment, or budget for the Ultra's optional charging dock.
Can either one lift anything meaningful?
No. Maximum end effector payload is 3 kg on both. These are interaction and demonstration machines, not material handling.
