Unitree humanoid robots span three families: the accessible R1 line, the research-standard G1 line, and the full-size H2. The R1 starts under $7,000 and put a real, walking humanoid within reach of individual developers and classrooms for the first time. The G1 is the platform you see in most university labs and viral demos, a 23-plus degree-of-freedom humanoid with dexterous-hand and Edu options that scale from teaching labs to serious manipulation research. The H2 is Unitree's full-size flagship for teams that need human-scale reach and payload. Every unit we sell is sourced through Unitree's authorized US distribution with US-based warranty support, and every price on this page is a real, verified US price, not an import estimate.

Read Before You Buy: SDK Access Is Fixed at Purchase
The single most expensive mistake buyers make with Unitree humanoids is ordering a base G1 for a research program. Base and Pro configurations ship as demonstration platforms: they walk, balance, and run Unitree's stock behaviors, but they do not include the secondary development SDK that research and custom-application work requires. SDK access, dexterous hands, and compute upgrades are only available on Edu configurations, and there is no upgrade path after purchase. You cannot buy a base G1 now and add SDK access later; the configuration you order is the configuration you keep. If there is any chance your team will write code against the robot, buy the Edu tier up front. Our G1 configurations guide breaks down exactly what each tier includes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the base Unitree G1 programmable?
No. The base G1 and G1 Pro are demonstration platforms without the secondary development SDK. If you need to program the robot, you need a G1 Edu configuration, and there is no post-purchase upgrade path from base to Edu.
What is the cheapest programmable Unitree humanoid?
The R1 Edu Standard at $15,950 is the least expensive Unitree humanoid with full SDK access for development work. The $6,870 R1 Air is the cheapest humanoid overall, but like the base G1 it is not a development platform.
R1 vs G1 vs H2: which family do I need?
R1 is the affordable entry point for learning and light development, G1 is the research workhorse with the deepest configuration options, and H2 is the full-size platform for human-scale manipulation and locomotion work.
Do you accept purchase orders and provide formal quotes?
Yes. We work with university, government, and enterprise procurement teams and provide formal quotes, vendor registration, a W-9, and purchase order terms for verified institutions. Contact us with your requirements and we will turn a quote around quickly.
