Two Autel EVO II RTK Series V3 drones with RTK modules
The EVO II RTK Series V3: the Pro 6K RTK and the Dual 640T RTK, each with its RTK module. Image: Autel Robotics.

The Autel EVO II RTK Series V3 puts a centimeter-level RTK module on Autel's folding EVO II airframe. It comes in two versions: the EVO II Pro 6K RTK with a 1-inch 20MP camera for photogrammetry, and the EVO II Dual 640T RTK with a 640×512 thermal camera for thermal mapping and inspection.

This guide compares the two, shows what the RTK module actually adds over the standard bundles, and helps you decide whether you need RTK at all. Specs are checked against Autel's published EVO II RTK Series V3 specifications.

Quick Answer

  • Mapping and photogrammetry: EVO II Pro 6K RTK V3, $2,999. 1-inch 20MP camera with adjustable aperture and 1 cm + 1 ppm RTK.
  • Thermal mapping and inspection: EVO II Dual 640T RTK V3, $5,799. 640×512 thermal plus a 50MP visual camera, georeferenced by RTK.
  • No survey-grade accuracy needed: the standard Pro 6K Rugged ($2,099) or Dual 640T Rugged ($4,799) bundles save $900 to $1,000.
  • Need a mechanical shutter: the DJI Matrice 4E ($5,189) has one; Autel lists none for the EVO II Pro RTK camera.

What the RTK Module Adds

Standard GNSS puts a drone within about a meter of where it thinks it is. Autel lists the EVO II V3's GNSS hover accuracy at ±1.5 m horizontally. With the RTK module fixed, that tightens to ±0.1 m in hover, and photo positions are tagged to 1 cm + 1 ppm horizontally and 1.5 cm + 1 ppm vertically. The module itself weighs 59.5 g and draws about 3 W.

Fewer GCPs

Less ground control

Accurately tagged photos reduce how many ground control points a survey needs. Your accuracy requirement decides how many you keep.

Repeat surveys

Line up over time

Construction progress and stockpile flights land on the same coordinates week after week.

Thermal maps

Locate the hot spot

On the 640T RTK, every thermal frame carries an accurate position, so a crew can walk straight to a failing panel or joint.

Inspection

Hold position

Tight RTK hover helps when you inspect close to a structure or repeat a route.

RTK vs Standard Bundle Pricing

Camera Standard bundle RTK bundle RTK premium
1" 6K visual Pro 6K Rugged V3 $2,099 Pro 6K RTK V3 $2,999 +$900
640T thermal + 50MP Dual 640T Rugged V3 $4,799 Dual 640T RTK V3 $5,799 +$1,000

The RTK Pro 6K is also $150 less than the Pro 6K Enterprise V3 ($3,149), which trades RTK for a spotlight, speaker and strobe kit. Mapping buyers want RTK; public safety buyers usually want the Enterprise accessories.

Buy the Pro 6K RTK V3

The Pro 6K RTK is the lowest-cost way into RTK mapping in our catalog. The 1-inch sensor and adjustable aperture give clean, sharp imagery for orthomosaics and 3D models, and 12-bit DNG leaves room to recover shadows on bright sites. It is our best-selling Autel aircraft.

Buy the Dual 640T RTK V3

Solar farm, roof and pipeline thermography need two things: a radiometric sensor and an accurate position for every frame. The 640T RTK does both. Autel rates the thermal camera from -20°C to 150°C in high gain and up to 550°C in low gain, ±3°C or ±3%. Autel also states that the EVO II Dual 640T V3 has no built-in no-fly zones and does not force firmware updates before takeoff. You are still responsible for FAA airspace rules.

Plan a polygon or rectangular mission in the flight app, fly it with RTK fixed, then process the images. Autel sells its own Autel Mapper software for orthomosaics, 3D models and surface models, and Autel lists third-party compatibility with Pix4D, DroneDeploy and SkyeBrowse for the EVO II V3 enterprise line. The Matrice 4E is the stronger mapping tool: a larger sensor with a mechanical shutter, longer flights and two telephotos. The Pro 6K RTK costs $2,190 less and is IP43 rated. For a first survey drone or a second aircraft on a budget, it is hard to beat. For production photogrammetry at speed, the 4E earns its price. See our Matrice 4E vs 4T guide.

Where the EVO II RTK V3 Falls Short

Batteries

No hot swap

The aircraft powers down to change batteries. The EVO Max series hot-swaps.

Cold

Rated to -10°C

For winter work below that, look at the EVO Max (-20°C).

Shutter

No mechanical shutter listed

Fast mapping passes favor a mechanical shutter like the Matrice 4E's.

Compliance

Not NDAA compliant

Autel is on the FCC Covered List and is not Blue UAS listed.

FCC and NDAA status. Autel Robotics is a Chinese manufacturer. Like DJI, it was added to the FCC Covered List in December 2025, which blocks new equipment authorizations but does not revoke ones already granted, so Autel models authorized before then remain legal to buy and fly in the US. Autel aircraft are not NDAA compliant and are not on the Blue UAS list, which rules them out for many federally funded programs. See our NDAA-compliant drones guide if that applies to you.

How to Buy

  1. Order online from the product page, or request a quote for fleet orders.
  2. Pay by ACH, wire or card. Tax-exempt agencies purchase tax-free with a valid exemption certificate on file.
  3. We ship free within the US.
