Unitree R1-A5 Dual-Arm Robot (Desk-Mount & Mobile Base)
Enterprise pricing, payment terms and bulk orders — talk to a drone specialist.
Overview
The Unitree R1-A5 is a dual-arm manipulation robot built for research, data collection, and embodied-AI development: two 5-DoF arms, a rotating waist, and a 2-DoF sensor head on a compact torso. Choose the desk-mount R1-A5 for benchtop manipulation work, or the R1-A5-D, which puts the same torso on a wheeled mobile base with a powered lifting column and MID360 LiDAR for mobile manipulation. Every configuration is open for secondary development.

Choosing a Configuration
- No Hands: bring your own end effectors; ideal if you already have grippers or are developing custom hands.
- Smart (40 TOPS): built-in Orin Nano compute plus your choice of hands: Dex1-1 V2 grippers (A), Dex3-1 three-finger force-controlled hands (B/C), BrainCo Revo 2 bionic hands (D/E), LinkerBot O6 six-DoF hands (F/G), or tendon-driven dexterous hands (H). Tactile versions add fingertip sensing for contact-rich manipulation research.
- Ultimate (100 TOPS, R1-A5-D only): Orin NX compute for onboard VLA/policy inference with the same hand options.

Who It's For
University manipulation and embodied-AI labs, imitation-learning and teleoperation data collection, humanoid research programs that need arms-and-hands without legs, and industrial R&D teams prototyping bimanual tasks. Pairs naturally with teleoperation rigs for demonstration data.
Quotes & Purchase Orders
Most R1-A5 configurations are research purchases. Request a formal quote for institutional procurement; we support university and government purchase processes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which hand option should I choose?
Dex1-1 V2 grippers (configuration A) are the most economical for pick-and-place and imitation-learning data collection. Dex3-1 three-finger force-controlled hands (B/C) suit dexterous manipulation research, with the tactile version adding fingertip sensing for contact-rich tasks. BrainCo Revo 2 (D/E) and LinkerBot O6 (F/G) offer humanlike bionic form factors, and tendon-driven hands (H) trade ruggedness for high dexterity. Tell us your research goals and we will match the configuration.
Desk-mount or mobile base: which do I need?
The desk-mount R1-A5 is for fixed benchtop workcells and costs less. The R1-A5-D adds a wheeled chassis with a powered lifting column and MID360 LiDAR, so the same torso can navigate a lab or facility and work at varying heights. If your tasks stay on one bench, the desk-mount is enough.
Can I program it?
Yes. Every R1-A5 configuration supports secondary development with development manuals and ecosystem support, and Smart and Ultimate configurations include onboard NVIDIA compute (40 or 100 TOPS) for running your own perception and policy models.
How long does delivery take?
Lead times vary by configuration and factory availability. We confirm the current lead time when you order or request a quote and keep you updated through delivery.
What warranty comes with it?
Every unit includes a 12-month manufacturer warranty serviced through Unitree's authorized US distribution, with US-based repair. Ask about extended coverage when you request a quote.
Do you accept purchase orders?
Yes. We support university, government, and enterprise procurement with formal quotes, vendor registration, W-9 documentation, and purchase orders for verified institutions.
