A humanoid that walks, balances and gets back up.
1.32 m (4 ft 4 in) tall, about 35 kg (77 lb).
3D LiDAR and a depth camera come standard.
It walks on two legs and stays there.
Six joint degrees of freedom in each leg, driven by low-inertia internal-rotor motors through industrial crossed roller bearings. The knee joint peaks at 90 N.m (66 lb-ft). The G1 walks, turns, squats and recovers its footing when it is pushed, which is the whole reason a bipedal platform is hard and the reason this one is interesting.
Whole-body motion, not a walking torso.
A waist joint rotating Z±155°, hips at P±154° and R -30° to +170°, knees through 0° to 165°. The joint ranges are wider than a person's, so the G1 can reach, crouch and move through poses that a fixed-waist humanoid cannot. Every joint uses hollow electrical routing and dual encoders.
A humanoid you can actually put to work.

Each arm carries about 2 kg (4.4 lb), with an arm span of roughly 0.45 m (17.7 in). That is enough to pick up, carry and hand over real objects. Unitree notes the figure varies with arm extension, so treat 2 kg (4.4 lb) as a working number rather than a lifting rating.
LiDAR and a depth camera at the base price.
A LIVOX MID360 3D LiDAR and an Intel RealSense D435i depth camera are standard on the G1, not upgrades. An 8-core CPU runs onboard, with a four-microphone array using noise and echo cancellation and a 5 W stereo speaker. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 handle connectivity, and intelligent OTA upgrades keep adding behaviours after you buy it.

The football and boxing demonstrations you have seen from Unitree run on G1 hardware in the G1-Comp and G1 Edu Combat configurations. Same chassis, same joints, different tuning and end effectors. If you want the SDK and NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute instead, that is the G1 Edu line.

Is the Unitree G1 authorized for use in the US?
Yes. It is covered by Unitree's US equipment authorization under grantee YuShu Technology Co., Ltd., FCC ID 2A5PE-YUSHU008, verifiable at apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas. FCC equipment authorization is separate from NDAA procurement eligibility, so if you are buying under a federal procurement rule, check that with us separately before you order.
How long does it run on a charge?
About 2 hours on the 9,000 mAh quick-release smart battery. The pack changes out without tools, so teams running a full demonstration day usually buy a second one.
How is the standard G1 different from the G1 Pro and the G1 Edu Standard?
The standard G1 is the entry configuration at 23 degrees of freedom with LiDAR and a depth camera standard, and secondary development is not enabled. The G1 Pro is the step-up configuration for teams that want more headroom. The G1 Edu Standard unlocks the full SDK and adds NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute with an expansion path to 43 degrees of freedom, which is the real reason a research lab buys it.
How much can the arms carry?
About 2 kg (4.4 lb) per arm on the standard G1, with an arm span of roughly 0.45 m (17.7 in). Unitree notes the maximum load varies considerably depending on how far the arm is extended, so plan around 2 kg (4.4 lb) rather than treating it as a hard lifting rating. The G1 Edu raises this to about 3 kg (6.6 lb) per arm.
Can I run it outdoors or in a dusty space?
It is rated 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and it is not waterproof or dustproof. Dry pavement and indoor floors are fine. Rain, wash-down areas and dusty industrial sites are not, and we would rather tell you that now than replace a robot later.
