Unitree Robotics
Unitree G1 Edu Standard Humanoid Robot
The Unitree G1 Edu Standard is the research configuration of the world's most widely adopted humanoid platform. It unlocks what universities and R&D teams actually need: full SDK and secondary development access, NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute, and an expansion path from 23 up to 43 degrees of freedom with optional dexterous hands, wrist, and waist modules. If your lab is doing locomotion, manipulation, teleoperation, or embodied-AI research, this is the configuration built for it, at a fraction of the cost of any comparable research humanoid.
Key Highlights
- Full SDK and secondary development access (Edu-exclusive)
- NVIDIA Jetson Orin high-computing module
- 23-43 degrees of freedom: optional Dex3-1 force-controlled three-finger hands (7 DoF each), plus optional wrist (2 DoF) and waist (2 DoF) modules
- 3D LiDAR (LIVOX MID360) + Intel RealSense D435i depth camera standard
- Highly dynamic locomotion: walking, balancing, disturbance recovery
- Active open-source community and published research base

The configuration that unlocks the robot.
Full SDK and secondary development access, NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute, and an expansion path from 23 up to 43 joint degrees of freedom with optional dexterous hands, wrist and waist modules. Knee torque rises to 120 N.m (89 lb-ft) and each arm carries about 3 kg (6.6 lb). This is the configuration university labs actually buy, and it is the only one that lets you write low-level control.

FAQs
Is this configuration authorized for use in the US?
Yes. The G1 family is covered by Unitree's US equipment authorization under grantee YuShu Technology Co., Ltd., FCC ID 2A5PE-YUSHU008, verifiable at apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas. FCC equipment authorization is separate from NDAA procurement eligibility, so if you are buying under a federal procurement rule, check that with us separately before you order.
How long does it run on a charge?
About 2 hours on the 9,000 mAh quick-release smart battery. The pack changes out without tools, so teams running a full day usually buy a second one.
How is the Edu Standard different from the standard G1 and the Edu Plus?
The standard G1 has no secondary development access. The Edu Standard adds the full SDK, NVIDIA Jetson Orin compute, 120 N.m (89 lb-ft) knee torque and an expansion path to 43 degrees of freedom. The Edu Plus goes further on articulation with 29 degrees of freedom out of the box, 7 degrees of freedom per arm and a 3 degree of freedom waist.
How much can the arms carry, and how far does it expand?
About 3 kg (6.6 lb) per arm, up from about 2 kg (4.4 lb) on the standard G1. Optional Dex3-1 three-fingered hands add 7 degrees of freedom each, optional wrist modules add 2, and optional waist modules add 2, which is how the platform reaches 43 degrees of freedom.
Can I run it outdoors or in a dusty space?
It is rated 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and it is not waterproof or dustproof. Dry pavement and indoor floors are fine. Rain, wash-down areas and dusty industrial sites are not, and we would rather tell you that now than replace a robot later.
Do you accept purchase orders and tax-exempt purchasing?
Yes. We work with universities, school districts and public agencies regularly and accept purchase orders and tax-exempt purchasing. Tell us what your procurement office needs on the paperwork and we will format the quote to match.
