Unitree Robotics
Unitree G1 Edu Plus Humanoid Robot
The Unitree G1 Edu Plus is the second tier of the G1 Edu line. It keeps the full 100 TOPS secondary development platform of the Edu Standard but adds meaningful articulation: 29 degrees of freedom instead of 23, with 7-DoF arms and a 3-DoF waist. For manipulation research, whole-body control, and motion planning work, that extra range is the difference between demonstrating a behavior and actually developing one.
Key Highlights
- 29 degrees of freedom, up from 23 on the Edu Standard
- Upgraded 7-DoF arms and 3-DoF waist for richer manipulation and whole-body motion
- 100 TOPS onboard compute with full SDK and secondary development
- Open platform for reinforcement learning, motion planning, and teleoperation research
- Compatible with the full G1 accessory range, including dexterous hands and LiDAR

Twenty-nine degrees of freedom, and the arms do the work.
Seven degrees of freedom per arm and a three degree of freedom waist, against five and one on the Edu Standard. For manipulation research, whole-body control and motion planning that extra range is the difference between demonstrating a behaviour and developing one. Same 100 TOPS secondary development platform underneath.

Compare the G1 Edu Tiers
All three run the same 100 TOPS secondary development platform on the same 1.32 m (4 ft 4 in) body. What you are choosing between is articulation and end effectors.

FAQs
Is this configuration authorized for use in the US?
Yes. The G1 family is covered by Unitree's US equipment authorization under grantee YuShu Technology Co., Ltd., FCC ID 2A5PE-YUSHU008, verifiable at apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas. FCC equipment authorization is separate from NDAA procurement eligibility, so if you are buying under a federal procurement rule, check that with us separately before you order.
How long does it run on a charge?
About 2 hours on the 9,000 mAh quick-release smart battery. The pack changes out without tools, so teams running a full day usually buy a second one.
How is the Edu Plus different from the Edu Standard and the Edu Pro?
The Edu Standard starts at 23 degrees of freedom with 5 degree of freedom arms and a single waist joint. The Edu Plus raises that to 29 with 7 degree of freedom arms and a 3 degree of freedom waist, still on dummy hands. The Edu Pro is the tier where real end effectors ship as standard, from tendon-cable manipulators up to tactile three-finger and five-finger hands.
How much can the arms carry, and can I add hands later?
About 3 kg (6.6 lb) per arm. The Edu Plus ships with dummy hands and is compatible with the full G1 accessory range, so Dex3-1 or five-finger hands can be added afterwards. If you already know you need hands, the Edu Pro is usually the cheaper route.
Can I run it outdoors or in a dusty space?
It is rated 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and it is not waterproof or dustproof. Dry pavement and indoor floors are fine. Rain, wash-down areas and dusty industrial sites are not, and we would rather tell you that now than replace a robot later.
Do you accept purchase orders and tax-exempt purchasing?
Yes. We work with universities, school districts and public agencies regularly and accept purchase orders and tax-exempt purchasing. Tell us what your procurement office needs on the paperwork and we will format the quote to match.
