The ViewPro A40 Pro is the long-range, cold-weather member of ViewPro's EO zoom lineup. Most zoom gimbals in this class fog over or ice up the moment they climb into cloud, fly a coastline, or work a winter search grid. The A40 Pro's anti-fog and anti-icing optical system keeps the front element clear in exactly those conditions, so the 40x optical zoom stays usable when the mission actually needs it.

Behind the glass is a 1/2.8-inch Sony CMOS sensor delivering Full HD 1080p at 2.13MP, with 40x optical zoom (plus 32x digital) reaching from a 73.8-degree wide field down to a 2.16-degree telephoto. Starlight-class low-light performance (down to 0.002 lux, or 0.0002 lux in slow-shutter mode), auto de-fog, auto infrared cut-removal, and electronic image stabilization keep the picture clean across changing light and weather.

The onboard AI module changes the operator workflow. Instead of manually steering the gimbal to hold a subject, the A40 Pro detects people and vehicles automatically, locks tracking, and keeps the target framed while the pilot flies the aircraft. It can flag 10 or more targets at once, with a car detection rate above 85%. For border and coastal patrol, winter search and rescue, and long-range inspection, that means one operator can do what previously took two.

What the A40 Pro Is Used For

Winter and Maritime Search and Rescue. Anti-icing optics keep the lens clear in freezing spray, fog, and cloud, exactly where standard zoom gimbals fail. The 40x optical zoom lets crews identify subjects from meaningful standoff, while AI tracking holds the target in frame during extended sweeps.

Border and Coastal Patrol. Automatic human and vehicle detection turns a patrol aircraft into an active sensor: the A40 Pro flags movement, locks tracking, and holds the subject as the aircraft maneuvers. Long-range optical zoom keeps the platform at a discreet distance.

Infrastructure Inspection in Poor Visibility. Power line corridors, wind farms, and industrial sites often need eyes in fog or freezing conditions. The de-fog and anti-icing system keeps the 40x zoom usable when the weather would otherwise scrub the flight.

Long-Range Surveillance and ISR. Starlight-class low-light sensitivity and 40x optical reach make the A40 Pro a capable day-and-low-light observation payload for security and monitoring missions.
