Why the As2 Stands Out
The Unitree As2 is Unitree's newest-generation robot dog: roughly twice the power performance of the Go2 in a ~20 kg platform, with IP54 protection and up to ~4 h / ~20 km of endurance on the Pro and Edu tiers, plus industrial 64-128-line LiDAR.

Roughly 2x the Go2.
The As2 delivers roughly twice the power performance of the Go2 in a ~20 kg platform, with up to ~90 N·m of max joint torque on the Edu tier across 12 joint motors.

Built for Any Terrain.
It clears steps up to 25 cm and slopes around 40° on the Pro and Edu tiers, moving from 0 to 3.7 m/s with a walking load up to ~15 kg.

IP54 Weatherized.
IP54 splash resistance on the Pro and Edu tiers and a -20°C to 50°C operating range keep the As2 working outdoors where consumer robots stop.

Industrial LiDAR and SDK.
Industrial 64-128-line LiDAR and ISS 3.0 side-follow are standard on Pro and Edu, and the Edu tier adds SDK access with a rear expansion port for compute such as the Orin NX.

FAQs
How soon can a Unitree As2 ship?
Lead times depend on the tier you choose and current factory availability. In-stock units go out quickly, while factory-configured Pro and Edu builds take longer. We confirm the current lead time when you order or request a quote, and we keep you updated through delivery.
What is included with the As2, and what costs extra?
Each As2 ships with the robot in your selected tier, one battery (8,000 mAh on Air or the 15,000 mAh long-range pack on Pro and Edu), and a charger. The handheld remote is included on the Pro and Edu tiers and is optional on Air. Extras such as spare batteries, additional compute for the Edu expansion dock, and accessories are quoted separately. We confirm the exact box contents for your tier on the quote.
Which As2 tier should I choose: Air, Pro, or Edu?
The Air tier is the entry point, with Unitree L2 LiDAR, an 8,000 mAh battery, about 2 hours of endurance, and no ingress protection. The Pro tier adds industrial 64-128-line LiDAR, IP54 splash resistance, ISS 3.0 side-follow, and the 15,000 mAh long-range battery for about 4 hours of runtime. The Edu tier matches the Pro hardware and adds SDK access with a rear expansion port for compute such as the Orin NX, so research and secondary-development buyers should choose Edu.
How does the As2 compare to the Go2 and the A2?
The As2 is Unitree's newest-generation robot dog, roughly twice the power of the Go2 in a ~20 kg platform. The Go2 Pro is the most affordable entry point on a lighter ~15 kg body, and the Go2 Edu is the proven research workhorse with the largest open-source community. The A2 is a larger ~42 kg weatherized industrial quadruped with IP56 and over 5 hours of endurance for patrol and inspection. Tell us your use case and we will point you to the right platform.
How long does the As2 run on a charge, and can I add spare batteries?
Endurance depends on tier and load: about 2 hours or 10 km on the Air tier with its 8,000 mAh battery, and about 4 hours or 20 km on the Pro and Edu tiers with the 15,000 mAh long-range battery. Real-world runtime drops as payload and terrain difficulty increase. Spare batteries are the simplest way to keep a unit working through a full day of testing or fieldwork, and we quote them alongside the robot.
Which As2 tiers support programming and the SDK?
Secondary development is supported on the Edu tier, which adds SDK access and a rear expansion port for onboard compute such as the Orin NX. The Air and Pro tiers do not include development access, so research and robotics-lab buyers who plan to write their own code should specify an Edu configuration.
What warranty applies to each As2 tier?
The As2 Air carries a 6-month manufacturer warranty, while the Pro and Edu tiers carry 12 months. All warranty service runs through Unitree's authorized US distribution with US-based repair, so your robot stays in the country rather than shipping overseas. Extended coverage is available on request.
Do you support university and government purchase orders?
Yes. Formal quotes, vendor registration, W-9s, and purchase orders are standard for verified universities, government buyers, and enterprises, including multi-unit lab pricing. Send us your procurement requirements and we will match your institution's process.
Is the Unitree As2 NDAA-compliant for government buyers?
No. Unitree robots are made in China and are not NDAA-compliant. Universities, research labs, and most commercial buyers are unaffected, but some federal and defense agencies restrict Chinese-made robotics under the NDAA. If your agency requires NDAA-compliant equipment, ask us about compliant alternatives before you buy.
Why buy the As2 from Global Drone HQ instead of importing one myself?
An imported unit is gray market: no US warranty support, and often no English documentation or firmware support. Ours come through Unitree's authorized US distribution with US-based service, and we support you before and after the sale with quotes, configuration guidance, and repair coordination.
